A great tour to travel around Lithuania! Starting the Lithuania tour in Vilnius, visiting Trakai, Kaunas and the Hill of Crosses... arriving to the seaside where you will take a short ferry ride across the Curonian Lagoon to see the Hill of Witches, plenty of sand dunes, and take a boat trip along the Curonian Spit. Try the typical fish soup in Mingė and enjoy the view of Nemunas riverside on the way back to Vilnius!
Day 1. Arrival in Vilnius, the capital of Lithuania. Transfer to a hotel. Dinner. Evening activities on request.
Day 2. Walking tour of Vilnius Old Town: the Town Hall Square and Vilnius University, the oldest university in The Baltics, dating back to 1579; walking down Pilies street to the Cathedral Square with Gediminas’ Tower up on the hill right next to it, where according to a legend the city of Vilnius was founded; visiting gothic St. Anne’s church and historical-architectural ensemble of Bernardines, and other sights. Lunch. Afternoon tour to Trakai, a former capital of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania with a beautiful castle in one of the islands of Lake Galvė. Dinner and optional evening activities.
Day 3. Departure to Kaunas. En route stop in Rumšiškės Open-Air Ethnographic Museum which displays a vast collection of buildings from different regions of Lithuania. Lunch. Arrival to Kaunas, the second largest city of Lithuania. Tour of Kaunas Old Town: Kaunas Castle from the 13th century, Town Hall square, Cathedral, and other sights. Arrival to a hotel. Dinner. Evening activities on request.
Day 4. Departure to Klaipėda. En route stop in the Hill of Crosses. Lunch. Arrival to Klaipėda. Afternoon tour of Klaipėda. Dinner. Optional evening activities.
Day 5. All day tour in the Curonian Spit. Short ferry trip from Klaipėda to Smiltynė and further drive to Nida. En route stop in Juodkrantė – a small fishermen’s village – to visit the Hill of Witches. Lunch. Further drive with short stops on the way to see the finest sand dunes. Afternoon in Nida: a boat trip in the Curonian Lagoon along the Spit with picturesque sand dunes. Optional tours to Thomas Mann‘s museum and Fisherman‘s House. Return to Klaipėda. Tour to Palanga for an evening walk and sunset by the sea in a Lithuanian seaside resort. Dinner. Evening activities on request.
Day 6. Departure to Vilnius. En route stop in the village of Minge, a unique place called Venice of Lithuania. Boat trip in Nemunas‘ delta, right where the longest river of Lithuania reaches the Curonian Lagoon. Lunch. Minge is a perfect place to try fish soup – typical meal in the Lithuanian seacoast. Further drive to Vilnius along Nemunas river with beautiful views of the riverside, castles and manors on the way. Evening arrival to Vilnius. Dinner. Optional evening activities.
Day 7. Transfer to the airport in Vilnius. Departure.
