Visiting the Baltics and Sweden? Here‘s a little bit for you to read before you go there. And scroll down to find the tours to the Baltics with an extension to Sweden.
Just across the Baltic Sea from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia you will find Sweden – a Scandinavian country that has a long chapter in the history of The Baltics. If you already visited the Baltic States you should have heard how much influence Sweden had in the northern part of The Baltics: from the foundation of Tartu University in Estonia to having Swedish Gates in the city wall of Riga.
AROUND THE COUNTRY. The country has Norway as its neighbour in the West, borders Finland in the North, and all eastern side is washed by the waters of the Baltic Sea. Travelling in the very North of Sweden will take you above the Arctic Circle where you will see the Northern Lights and Ice Hotel in winter time. Dog sledge, snowmobile and bikes on the snow in -30 °C is just a regular day in Kiruna - a small town in the North. And midnight sun will greet you there if you happen to be there in summer time. The southern part of the country is just as interesting with a beautiful archipelago in Goteborg and a bridge connecting Sweden with Denmark. However, what Sweden is most famous for is its capital Stockholm – Venice of the North – a city built on fourteen islands. And Stockholm archipelago has few more islands just outside the city. If 30 000 islands can be called few.
Travelling to Sweden is easy from anywhere in the world and the best way to get there from the Baltics is by a cruise ferry.
All you need to do is take a Baltics & Neighbours tour that you will find at the end of this page and you are in for the Baltic and Scandinavian experience!
