Seaside resort town Pärnu is an ideal destination for beach and wellness holidays. Pärnu is known for its historic mud and SPA treatments – for hundreds of years, people have travelled here for that. In 1837, a few business-minded entrepreneurs decided to rebuild a lone tavern near the beach into a bathing establishment, thus preparing the ground for the development of the resort of Pärnu. This wooden building was the predecessor of the present-day mud baths. The establishment, which was opened in 1838 provided hot seawater baths in summer and operated as a sauna in winter. In 1927, the present stone building of Pärnu Mud Baths was erected at the same site. Today, Pärnu is the most popular health tourism destination in Estonia.
Everything in Pärnu is within a walking distance, making it easy to combine luxurious and relaxing SPA experiences with culture, beaches and nightclubbing.
Long, white sanded beaches are the trademark of Pärnu - the coastline of Pärnu county is almost 250 km long. Mostly white sanded, there are plenty of private, stranded beaches, majestic pine forests and beautiful seaside villages to discover. And you can take a tour to visit the Estonian islands!
